Abstract

The development of nanobiopesticides is one of the environmentally friendly pesticide innovations to replace chemical pesticides, which have negative impacts in the long term. This research aims to develop a biopesticide nano homogenizer design to determine the most suitable type of mixer based on user requirements. The main ingredients for making nano biopesticides include citronella essential oil, eucalyptus oil, and water. The method used in this research is design requirements and objectives (DR&O). Alternative technological solutions for biopesticide manufacturing equipment based on DR&O refer to aspects of solution selection, including product identification (mixing that is homogeneous and flexible), special features (automatic), having a physical description such as can be made in a regular workshop, and a simple shape, as well as user identification. The data processing results using the DR&O method showed that the rotor-stator mixer type had the highest total score of 22. The advantages of this rotor-stator mixer include high speed, good homogenization, and multi-function.
